Lere Education Program
About:
Lere is a town and Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Nigeria. It serves as the Lere Emirate’s headquarters. The population of the town and its surroundings is estimated to be around 93,290 people. Its headquarters is located in Saminaka. The residents of Lere LGA are known for being open to gaining knowledge and welcoming development.
Goal & Opportunity
The Education Program focused on raising health awareness about malaria, tuberculosis, and other communicable diseases, as well as improving sanitation and hygiene habits to promote health in our environment. There is also a need to improve participants’ understanding of resource mobilization and utilization for community improvement.
Impact:
Prior to the program, the majority of community members did not understand the causes of malaria, did not have a voter’s card, and did not understand their roles as community members in terms of community ownership. The main success of the program was the immediate impact displayed by the participants from the analysis, which indicated improvement and knowledge gained after the program.
