Awodi Ora

About:
Awodi-Ora is a community in Ajegunle, Ajeromi Local Development Authority (LDA) in Lagos State. The community is notorious for various forms of social vices coupled with a high level of poverty, insecurity, unemployment, and poor electricity.

Goal & Opportunity:
The Our Community Matters(OCM)  outreach is to unravel the issues that confront the people in Awodi-ora and together with members of the community find sustainable solutions to these problems.

Impact:
The visit to the Awodi-Ora community provided insight into the community’s immediate needs. The most prominent issues are poor sanitation, a lack of access to safe drinking water, and young out-of-school teenagers. SHIFT Nigeria will collaborate with community members to drill a borehole and construct public toilets that will be managed by community leaders.
